To Russia with Love (via Kotka, Finland)

Schenker of Canada is going global – again. And Schenker of Calgary, is the driving force. In early August they were approached by our client Natco Canada to handle huge shipments to Lukoil, an oil company based in Moscow.

The Schenker Calgary team worked closely with Natco here in Canada to ensure everything was ready. They helped to complete all necessary packing lists from the drawings, and then finalize the documents for each load. Finally they oversaw the load out.
Across the ocean, Schenker arranged to move the freight from Calgary, to Kotka (Finland) on behalf of Lukoil through their Moscow agent. This “load out” was a major project – it involved ordering rail cars, obtaining clearance for oversize cargo, getting cranes in the client train yards to do the loading…Schenker even had to work with the inspectors to ensure that everything was good to go.
Everything came together on September 1st, as Schenker coordinated a smooth move of 1200 freight tonnes. But this was just the warm up. Before you can say пойдите! (“Go” in Russian), we moved a 5075 tonne load on October 14. During this time frame we moved out 9 pipe skids 6 free water knock out units, 2 treaters, 1 desalter and 5 MCC units (these are the mechanized control console units, computers, monitors, pressure & volume controls). This second load out covered, 5075 freight tons of cargo. The treater/Free water knock out/desalter units were 1591 x333 x 401 cm. The pipe skid units were 1354 x 336 x 359 cm. The MCC units 1133 x 336 x 374 cm.
While the scope of work was large, the Calgary Team made this a successful move. They’re ready to get the third shipment moving from Halifax on Nov 8. Россия Любит Ее (Russia loves it!)
