DB Schenker and the Environment

At DB Schenker, our ambition is to pursue the necessary expertise to be the most environmentally sustainable logistics provider in the world.

Basic environmental understanding is a key success factor in our environmental work at DB Schenker. In order to help raise awareness on such issues as procedures on how to maintain a paperless society at each DB Schenker location, an environmental training 'course' is available for all DB Schenker employees.

DB Schenker is constantly pursuing programs that focus on environmental improvements. We are convinced that we can all help to increase resource efficiency and reduce environmental impacts.

Environmental reporting is an important part of DB Schenker's communication with external interested parties, primarily our customers. By offering a relevant and true picture of our environmental efforts we can provide our customers an opportunity to judge our actions to reduce environmental impacts.

At DB Schenker, our ambition is to pursue the necessary expertise to be the most environmentally sustainable logistics provider in the world. We have the responsibility to safeguard the environment with the future of mankind very much in mind. Our responsibility is to create conditions for long-term relationships with our partners by meeting their demands for a solid integration of environmental and ethical core values in our business agenda and portfolio.

Health and Safety

DB Schenker is committed to Safety, Health and Environmental performance, and have taken steps to ensure that our business practices meet these requirements. One of the programs implemented at all DB Schenker locations is recycling. All paper that is to be discarded is either shredded or recycled. Our warehouse facilities also follow a recycling program for items such as cardboard packaging, and shrink-wrap.

Compliance

DB Schenker regards compliance with environmental and sanitation regulations to be critically important and establishment of environmental compliance and sanitation controls and procedures is essential to our business. Our Environmental and Sanitation programs include the following key features and controls (our sanitation programs are based on the ASI Food Safety Consultants Guidelines for Distribution Centers requirements which have been developed from the HACCP standard operating procedures):
