Schenker becomes one in the north of the UK too
UK's No. 2 logistics player combines two more offices to facilitate greater business growth

(Manchester, 02/02/2007) Having successfully completed the integration of its London Heathrow operation Schenker Limited, the UK arm of the global integrated logistics provider, has now completed the same process at both its Manchester and Glasgow facilities.
Manchester operations are now based at a two-storey, on-airport facility which accommodates sales, operations and admin personnel under Branch Manager, Chris Dunley. The 18,000 sq foot facility provides ERTS, loading and devanning of ocean containers and general warehousing capabilities.
In Glasgow, Branch Manager, Debbie McBride now overseas a 32,000 sq foot facility which is ideally suited to the multi-modal services Schenker provides.
"Both these offices are former BAX premises and with some minor modifications are now well-equipped to cater for Schenker's ambitious plans in the UK in the coming years," says Douglas Coull, Operations Director, Northern Region.
"Everything has gone exceptionally smoothly, customer communication and acceptance has been tremendous and by moving over a weekend we were able to make the transition entirely seamless," he adds.
With 26 locations and over 973 employees, the joint organisation of Schenker and BAX Global in the United Kingdom provides the complete range of land operations, international air and sea freight forwarding and all related integrated logistics services.
