(Singapore/Jakarta, 16/01/2007) Schenker and BAX Global Logistik (BAX Indonesia) announces the completion of their merger and operational integration as of 1st January 2007, to become PT Schenker Petrolog Utama.
BAX Indonesia has been in Indonesia since 1997, specializing in international air freight, ocean services, and high-tech logistics (warehousing and distribution) with offices in Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Bandung and a staff strength of 140 supporting a number of major local, regional and global accounts in Indonesia. Schenker has more than 30 years forwarding experience in Indonesia, with a workforce of 272 people in 9 locations, providing the complete range of international forwarding and logistics services.
The combined company, PT Schenker Petrolog Utama, has a workforce of over 400 staff, in over 9 locations throughout Indonesia, offering integrated logistics services, international freight forwarding (airfreight export and import, seafreight export and import), supply chain management solutions - including warehousing, distribution, and value added services; along with project and heavy lift capability, customs clearance, fairs and exhibitions, and household removal services.
Schenker and BAX Global are in the process of integrating around the world. The joint organization has a team of about 50,000 experts at 1,500 locations in 150 countries.
